THE FIRST YA FANTASY TRILOGY FROM PATRICK BOEY

If my fifteen or so years of writing fiction has taught me anything, it’s that it pays to have a plan. When I started the first draft of Maverick Twain in 2017, working between (sometimes during) classes and lunch breaks, I knew the world and characters deserved more than one book. Hence the idea for the first trilogy was born. These first three books are made to both stand alone and form one continuous story, one about overcoming great odds, finding meaning in yourself and others, and discovering the distinctions between right and wrong, regardless of all other forces.

I’m proud to announce the working titles of the first three books in the Maverick Twain series. Please note: the below images and novel titles are placeholders and will probably change before the books see publication.

Who is Patrick Boey and what do they do?

Patrick Boey is me, and I am him. We are one and the same, although sometimes it often feels like we are at complete odds at each other. Still, I consider him an irremovable and inseparable part of myself, since he is me.

My name is Patrick Han Boey, and I am a writer, creator, and musician born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I’m passionate about literature, comic books, music, film, gaming, bouldering, and skateboarding, to name a few hobbies.

In 2022, I graduated from the Conservatorium of Music and the University of Sydney with 1st Class Honours. My concept album, Future’s End, was my major work for the Contemporary Music program’s honours requirements. Part of my studies was also devoted to creative writing.

Since I was a kid, I’ve been writing short stories and novellas — and several very unfinished novels (who knows if they’ll ever see the light of day?) — for my own enjoyment. I’ve always felt intimidated about sharing my work, for no reason whatsoever. Sharing literature and art with the world and the people you love is, in my opinion, one of the most rewarding parts of living on planet Earth. So, if you’re a creator, like me, and you’re hesitant to ‘expose’ yourself or open up your creations up to criticism and consumption — don’t be!

What is this website for?

This is my official writer’s website, where I post content such as short stories, poetry, blogs, and other creative content like music and art. I also provide guides and resources for writers, readers, and all online perusers of the creative inclination, as well as professional tailored services for creators and writers.

But what is an author’s website really for, but their books? Here, I’ll also post exclusive content and updates regarding my upcoming book series: Maverick Twain. This project has been a long time coming, and I’m excited to share more as it gets closer to its final state.

While at present, I won’t be posting absolutely everything I write and create on this writer’s website, I will be sharing works that I think deserve an audience (that’s you).

My official writer’s website is also a place for me to share my thoughts, experiences, and knowledge about the craft — as well as other topics such as films, games, and more — in my blogs and guides.

Are you a published author or only online?

I write online as a way to share my work with those interested, to keep the creative juices flowing, and also to hopefully entertain, inspire, and help readers and writers alike. I’m working towards publication for my novels — which, I’m sure you know, is a tough road for anyone. I’ll keep you updated of any progress on official published work through this writer website.
