Welcome to the hub for my creative portfolio. By clicking around a little, you’ll discover that I have produced a range of creative projects—of varying forms and genres. Whether you’re looking for my original short stories, art, designs, poetry, or music, you’ll find it here. Check out my different creative collections below, and please let me know if you enjoyed my work by contacting me.

Short Stories
As a writer, writing short stories tests my ability to craft a compelling narrative in a short time. They’re also are a great way to experience fiction without the commitment of a multi-chapter book. These are especially attractive considering how short on time (and attention) we have all become. My stories cover classic genres such as fantasy, horror, mystery, action, and adventure.
Musical Composition
As a writer and artist, I’m always thinking about music. Sometimes, music comes from my writing or art, and sometimes it’s the other way around. In my original EPs and Concept Albums, you’ll discover entire universes brought to you by sound and lyrics, entirely written, recorded, and produced by myself.

Flash Fiction
Sometimes, I’ll just have a flash of a thought. A sentence or paragraph that doesn’t necessarily need to be fleshed out into a long-form work. That’s what flash fiction is for—and it’s easy to consume, too. If you’re short on time, check out these micro-fiction pieces that should only take you a minute or two to read.
Poetry
Ah, poetry. A form of creativity as old as—if not older than—language itself. Reading good poetry, to me, feels as good and natural as breathing. For a long time, people expected me to be a poet. My father is one, after all. Now I occasionally dabble, in a predominantly abstract, free-flow kind of way. If this interests you, go right ahead and investigate.

Patrick Boey’s Creative Portfolio
They say a writer or creator’s portfolio should always reflect who they truly are on the inside. And that’s what my creative portfolio hopefully does. I’m very proud of what I’ve created, and I am glad to share just a small piece of what I love doing.
Beyond my creative portfolio, I also provide services for creators and writers looking to work on their own portfolio and other media-based endeavours, as well as resources and guides for writers and creators. If you came here looking for guidance on creativity or how to create or cultivate your own portfolio, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me for advice or solidarity—it’s a difficult world out there for us creative types.
Creative Portfolio FAQs
Is everything in this writer’s portfolio yours?
All the written, visual, or oral works you find in this creative portfolio are the sole creation of myself—Patrick Boey—unless otherwise explicitly stated. If anything on this website belongs to or was created in collaboration with someone else, I will appropriately credit them and provide a link to their website, if they have one.
What is a writer’s portfolio?
In it’s simplest form, a freelance writer’s portfolio is a body of work, a collection of their past writing. While traditionally, writer’s portfolios were presented in tasteful books and folders to prospective employers or publishers, I’ve decided to publish select pieces from my portfolio online on my website for you to read and enjoy. That being said, if you are a publisher, whether physical or digital, and you are interested in my writing, do feel free to reach out to me.
If you are a reader, please enjoy the portfolio and do feel free to share with your friends and family who you think may enjoy it. It goes without saying that all the work you’ll find in this writer’s portfolio belongs to myself and any repurposing, reproducing, or reposting of the content is prohibited. Just thought I’d mention that! For more information, see the privacy policy.
Why do you call it a creative portfolio?
While for the most part, this website is devoted to my creative writing endeavours and the promotion of my novels, in particular, the Maverick Twain series, it’s also a place for me to post and display my other creative endeavours, so it’s a singular destination for myself and all those interesting in taking a look at my work.
In this creative online portfolio, you won’t just find short stories and poetry, you’ll also discover my music ( original compositions, songs, EPs and albums) and my art (sketches, paintings, designs, and photos, mostly to do with comic book creation).
For these reasons, I’ve decided to name this collection my creative portfolio rather than a writer’s portfolio, though you’ll find that the short story, flash fiction, and poetry categories are their own writer’s portfolios.
