In Search of Moonflowers is the name of the first novel in the Maverick Twain series, and something I’ve been working on since 2017 (6 years!).
This book is very dear to my heart, and it brings me great pleasure to share this short, spoiler-free synopsis with you:
Maverick Twain: In Search of Moonflowers – The Synopsis
In the world called Aerum and the Queendom of Sylarea, magic is everywhere. The cosmic entity known as the Stream flows through the planet, manifests in the weather, and grants abilities to humans, as well as animals called Paragons.
But the Grand Baron of Brinklight City has banned the manipulation of magic for adolescents under fifteen. So, thirteen-year-old rebel Maverick Twain resorts to illegal methods to practise magic. It is along this path that he becomes entangled in a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a magical Paragon—an armoured, winged lion called a lyriaph. He encounters a malicious poacher, a mythical monster-hunter, and a masked being known as the Seeker—shadows from his family’s vigilante past.
Maverick is joined by his tortured friend, Hamora, and unlikely new comrades, as they attempt to unravel the mystery of the Seeker. Their adventures take them to shadowy forests, secret mansions, and silver islands, where they learn their most valuable lessons and face their greatest challenges, while struggling to answer the pervading question: who is the Seeker, and what are they planning? The answer and its consequences may endanger their entire world…
